Watch LIVЕ upcoming event: 20 April 2024 from Ufa, Russia: Artur Subkhankulov (RUS) vs James Chereji (ROM). Artur Subkhankulov is gearing up for a triumphant return to his hometown, where he will be welcomed as a hero at the Salavat Yulaev Ice Palace for the upcoming IBA Champions’ Night on 20 April 2024, in Ufa, Russia. Subkhankulov's much-anticipated matchup will see him square off against Romanian contender James Chereji in the main event, vying for the prestigious 60kg IBA European Champion title. The victor of this headline bout will not only claim the inaugural championship belt but also aim to extend an impressive unbeaten streak to seven fights, with each victory being resoundingly decisive. In contrast, Chereji has previously appeared at an IBA Champions’ Night, where he faced defeat against Pavel Fedorov representing Serbia in Serpukhov in August 2023. In another exciting showdown, Pavel Sosulin is eyeing his third consecutive victory at the IBA Champions’ Night as he goes head-to-head over eight rounds against Ulugbek Sobirov from the Uzbekistan in the 71kg weight class. Sosulin, hailing from Russia, has already triumphed over American Alexis Espino and Turkey’s Fatih Keles, maintaining an unblemished professional record. His last setback occurred at the 2023 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships in a match against Moreno Fendero from France in the round of 16. Moving on to the undercard, Danis Gabdrafikov, a local favorite, returns to Ufa for the first time since his professional debut three years ago. The 25-year-old, boasting a perfect record of three wins, will face off against Uzbekistan's Bobo-Usmon Baturov, a world bronze medallist and two-time Asian Championships gold medallist, in the 67kg category. Despite Baturov's resilience in lasting all eight rounds in his four previous professional bouts, this time he will engage in a six-round ranking fight against Gabdrafikov. Adding to the excitement, Bekkhan Israilov from Russia is poised to make his debut in the IBA professional circuit against Nursultan Amanzholov from Kazakhstan in the +92kg weight division. Amanzholov's single professional defeat came at the hands of world bronze medallist Lazizbek Mullojonov from Uzbekistan. The event will also feature other thrilling matchups, including Gor Khachatryan of Russia against Seymur Isayev from Azerbaijan at 63.5kg and Dmitriy Zakharov of Russia facing Syrgak Abdyzhapar Uulu of Kyrgyzstan at 71kg, both contested over six rounds. Lastly, the stage is set for an intense battle between Leon Antonyan representing Russia and Azizbek Abdugofurov from Uzbekistan, who will clash over 10 rounds in the 76.2kg weight category. Antonyan, a victor at the 2023 IBA Champions’ Night in Moscow against Maxim Smirnov, will test his skills against the former WBC Silver Super-Middleweight titleholder, Abdugofurov. Brace yourself for a night of pulsating action and roaring crowds as these elite fighters put everything on the line for glory and honor in the ring!
